Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Entomologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in entomology, animal physiology, and scientific research. This role involves conducting research on insects and their interactions with the environment, as well as applying findings to various applications in agriculture, pest control, and conservation efforts. The successful applicant will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively in a laboratory setting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct scientific research on insect species, their behavior, physiology, and ecology.
- Perform laboratory experiments to analyze insect samples and data.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop pest management strategies based on research findings.
- Maintain accurate records of experiments, observations, and results for further analysis.
- Educate the public or stakeholders about the importance of insects in ecosystems and agricultural practices.
- Ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations related to insect research and management.
- Provide training or guidance in animal handling techniques, including animal restraint and medication administration when necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Entomology, Zoology, advanced degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge of taxonomy, animal anatomy, microbiology, horticulture, and environmental law.
- Previous laboratory experience is essential; veterinary experience is a plus.
- Ability to conduct scientific research independently while also working effectively within a team environment.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $92,000.00 – $105,000.00 per year
